I love the effort you put into making the water! Everything looks like its been made in days but when i saw that this only took you three hours I lost my mind! Im so slow when it comes to completing my stuff. Do you have any advice when it comes to becoming faster?
Hi LorenViz, well that's a tough one. To be honest im still learning too. I don't think you ever stop. I think the best way to learn to paint is to keep painting, each painting i do is a bit better than the last. I spend a lot of time studying anatomy, perspective and how to use colours. there are some great books and tools to help with that. If you want to do landscapes you need to start sketching them, take photos and if you can go sit and paint outside that's even better. try blocking in values and shapes first. don't add detail till the end. I hope this helps.
Thank you, as far as technique goes I don't really have a particular one, I just try to let the shapes define the outcome. The only solid thing at the beginning is the colour palette, i just let my imagination take me. Its nice doing it that way for a change. Normally with specific works and commissions I have a lot of ideas and requirements so the absolute freedom is nice for a change.
