Just a quick practise painting, second thing i have painted since switching to digital, think im getting the hang of it.

The magnitude in this piece is speechless. The sand in place of the water strikes the viewer. The ship sails with full force yet it all compels me to believe. Not sure but could sand be splashing at the bottom front point of the ship, like water would. Could there be a dust storm. What about animal bones on the sand. Could people be walking somewhere in the scene. what about fire, the desert heat is so hot it burns for water to cool it. Heat waves could work. How about a village, tents set up. An empty well could make the scene look empty of water even though the sand is replacing the water that carries the ship...

I just think this is a good idea. The ship in the sand isn't something you see every day. Could be expanded upon...
